They said we really only needed to try 1 out of the 6 kinda sent, but we were on a coffee roll over here so they all got tasted. We even took them to work to share the glory. And man was it glory. They were all yummy! Though some were yummier then others. Out of the 6 our favorites were the Late Night Log In and Bloggers Boot Up Blend. A lot of people at work REALLY liked the Late Night Log In as well. The Late Night Log In was powerful and rich and it spoke to you. 'I am coffee, drink me!' Art had 4 cups of this the day we tried this. And a lady at work almost attacked him to get more info about where to get the coffee from. Take that Starbucks! LOL. ...Oh I almost forgot to mention the best part. The coffee comes freshly grinded if that's how you want it... Resealable with a little valve so you could squeeze all the air out and keep the coffee as fresh as possible. We're used to the Foldger's canister so yeah, we were pysched about the valve thing. It's always the little things that just get you. |

Nothing better than a great cup of joe. New Media Mavericks: This is touted as a medium blend but I think it's pretty mild. Keep in mind, I drink my coffee black, no sugar, and fully leaded. It's for that reason I can't stomach Starbucks. Their coffee is way too bitter for my tastes. I guess that's why they laden it down with cream and sweeteners....I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into with this blend. When I opened the pouch the coffee beans had a very rich, robust smell. I always find that beans that smell like the earth are a pretty good bet. I used about 4 ground tablespoons to 16 oz of filtered water per the recommendation of the package. This blend didn't need cream or sugar. It is so mild, but at the same time, full-bodied. I would recommend this blend to anyone who likes a coffee that is mild, not bitter, and very smooth.

New Media Mavericks: My first Boca Java brew. I didn't drink coffee black (I'm a creamer gal), but I could with this blend. It's bold with subtle undertones. Positively delish with creamer! I could really stick with this one. What do hte others have in store for me, I wonder?<more> |

...my final thought is: New Media Mavericks is great. Bold, rich, yummy. All a girl could ask for in free coffee. And I hold faith that their flavored coffees will live up to the standards that have been set for them... |

Bloggers Beach Blast -This coffee is described as a tantalizing combination of chocolate and caramel. They are absolutely right! This coffee is sinfully good. I'm sitting here right now, totally enjoying my cup of coffee in my Blogger fuel cup that Boca Java sent as well as several pounds of coffee. Look, if the coffee wasn't any good, I'd tell you so, I'm not a corporate schill! I'm just a blogger like you! If this coffee is any indicator, I'll be maintaining a long term relationship with Boca Java.....as a consumer <more> |

Crackin' that bag of South American Dark and Medium roast open and taking a sniff was like smelling pure heaven y'all! That aroma was so strong that I could feel myself waking up a little more and my groggy eyes got a little wider just off the fumes. This, my friends, was an excellent sign. Turns out they have a roast-to-order process so your bag of beans (or grounds) aren't created until you order so you are getting the freshest blend possible for your buck.
The fresh beans ground wonderfully in our grinder and the rich aroma permeated the entire kitchen! The Blogs of Bravery blend not only smelled fabulous but the taste was to die for. It was a very clean coffee; there was no bite to it or icky processed flavor, just a smooth flow of rich taste and a very clean aftertaste. |

Rantings of a Crazy Woman |
I'm a self-proclaimed wimp when it comes to coffee. I like my brews of light to medium roast...I like flavored coffees if I make it at home. So I made a half-pot of Blogger's Beach Blast: ...I had this with my dinner of steamed cauliflower and asparagus. Again, no lie. I don't think I made it strong enough as I didn't really notice any other flavors. It was a nice smooth blend, however, but will require most studying on my part. And I didn't make enough. Today when I got to work I immediately went for the coffee maker right outside my office dorr. I don't drink that coffee - it's too strong for my taste. Plus, it's the usual industrial foil packs of coarse-ground coffee. I hadn't even booted up my computer yet when I cracked into Blogger's Pajama Passion... Again, flavored. I used the decaf pot so I'd know which coffee was mine. I thought I made it too light again, but there was much more flavor in this one. <more> |

Gevalia, eat your heart out. Bloggers Beach Blast: The first of the coffee's I tried, based on the concept chocolate and caramel in my coffee that made my brain start to melt at even the thought of it. Of course, as per my cute skeptic's brain, I figured it would have a great smell and a more or less normal coffee flavor - oh how wrong was I. The first thing that caught my interest was that the scent of the coffee filled my entire house as it was brewing, which made me want a cup even more than the cute little tropical picture on the front of the bag. When it was finally in my cup, cream and sugarless, it was smooth, very smooth. Strong but not acidic and the taste, oh my lord, chocolate up the wazoo and caramel enough to make it a desert coffee without over doing it. I thought this would undoubtedly be my favorite. I was wrong once again. Bloggers Pajama Passion: The greatest of all flavored coffees, Bloggers Pajama Passion promised vanilla, kahlua and caramel - possibly my Nirvana. The scent while brewing and color were better than probably any coffee I've tried, and I'm a coffee fiend so I've tried a lot of brews. ..made it possibly the greatest home-brewed cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. |

For a caffiene junkie such as myself, it's a dream come true...So, given that I'm putting my coffee connisouer (sp) abilities to the test, I've got 5 criteria for coffees: It's taste after the intial brew, it's taste after it's been reheated in the microwave after it's been sitting for a couple of hours, it's taste after I had to reheat it the next morning, it's taste without sweetener, and it's taste with sweetener. I HAVE to have cream in my coffee, I cannot drink it straight. I brew my coffee using a 4 cup Mr. Coffee autodrip coffee maker...New Media Mavericks.. The taste was rich, yet smooth, almost buttery. I got no jittery effects from the coffee, even when making it stronger than required. And the flavor remained even after sitting in the decanter for a while. This is one coffee you can also drink without feeling the need to add sweetener. ..Anyway, if you can access it, I highly recommend New Media Mavericks. Bloggers Boot Up Blend was one I wanted to write about,...Blogger's Boot Up Blend is light and smooth but with a kick. There's a reason why this is recommended as a breakfast coffee. So, my coffee ratings: New Media Mavericks: 8 Bloggers Boot Up Blend: 8.5 |

Bloggers Boot Up Blend. At first its got a really nice flavor, but it finishes with an acidic quality that just really isnt my thing. ... 'Late Night Log In' Oh-My-God, that is good coffee! Yes sir, may I have another? My experience with the Late Night Log In blend began with feeling the beans. They were dark, soft, and oily, and when ground, they stuck in the grinder. Their aroma was of pure heavenly smokey coffee goodness...The act of drinking this gourmet blend left me feeling pampered, and I truly was drinking liquid gold. It was relaxing, soothing - the perfect blend to end a busy day. I could see bringing a cup of this into the tub with me for a long soak....Its perfect and blows any other coffee that ive tried right out of the press. Thank you, Boca Java - Ive got my favorite. |

This morning I got up earlier than normal and I made a pot of Bloggers Boot Up Blend! It is pretty smooth! It isn't too heavy and has a great flavor. ..the coffee was wonderful - smooth and rich with a slightly nutty or smoky aftertaste. I'm not the Coffee Connoisseur that Mocha is, so I can't tell you all the hints of flavors and variations of color like she does in her blog. But I can tell you what it reminded me of...Rolling out of my toasty sleeping bag, opening the tent-flap to step into the cold, crisp pre-dawn mountain air. Watching Pratchett making gourmet coffee on top of a campfire stove using one of his high-tech contraptions while someone else tries to relight the remains of last night's fire. Drinking a cuppa while I watch the sun slowly change the ridges from grey to gold to green. So how better to celebrate that memory than by creating a new one: sipping a bit of liquid heaven while watching the sun set from my porch. Thanks Boca Java! |

I wanted to write about my favorite coffee: BocaJava. I've had lots of Starbucks and Gevalia, and New England, shipped to my home because I enjoy great coffee. I saw an ad on the Internet about BocaJava and decided to try it. It is now my favorite. I drink it every day and I have given it for gifts to several women for Mothers Day. I have particularly enjoyed the Bloggers Boot Up Blend. I have three cups every morning now to get my day and my family going. The smell of the aroma is refreshing. Each sip helps me to get energized for the day. My family knows that these cups help me to keep my perspective and focus to get them on their way to a successful day. I'll be buying BocaJava consistently myself for home, gifts and the office. I'd recommend this to any mother who desires to find energy and fulfillment to support their busy lives. |

When the box arrived, the aroma from the box was incredible. These were whole beans but it already smelled like fresh brewed morning coffee. The first bag I tried this morning is their New Media Mavericks ...Well, I want an excellent body and to be rich in a robust way, so thats whats brewing. (Later after a few cups) I gotta tell you that some of the best smelling coffee. Rich and easy to drink, its just a wee bit stronger than the medium they claim to be, but no bitterness or bite to it. A most excellent coffee. |

More java java java! I tried the Blogger's Beach Blast yesterday. Dare I say YUM? It's not too strong nor is it too flavored. I am usually a fan of coffee flavored coffee. I will drink the flavored coffees if they aren't TOO flavored. This one was just the right mix. You can taste just a hint of chocolate and caramel. I liked it. So much in fact that I was ticked I only had the one cup that I took with me to work. |

Blogs of Bravery and Blogger's Boot Up Blend are two of my favorites. Both blends are rich and full-bodied without being bitter or leaving a sour aftertaste. One of my major pet peeves is weak coffee. As in, coffee you can see through. If I brew a pot of coffee, I don't want to be able to see the bottom of the karaff. Wow - I could totally do a coffee commercial. |

Gevalia, I hate to break it to you....Gevalia has long been a favorite of mine, but between the hidebound way the club sends their stuff (Dunno if even my daily coffee IVs will use their coffee as fast as they insist on sending it) and that they keep shoving equipment with their intro offers that I don't need, I've just never jumped and joined their club. All their email wooing has been for naught. I've found a better coffee club: Boca Java. It's seriously wunnerful... <more> |

The first coffee I tried was the 'Blogger's Pajama Passion'...I opened the bag and was instantly hit by a heavenly aroma - I imagined myself in an upscale coffee shop. The taste was very smooth, somewhat on the sweet side (at least for me), but quite good notwithstanding. Strangely enough, PJ Passion does lend itself to late-night browsing. I can picture myself on the back porch with my iBook and a fresh cuppa of PJ Passion surfing the night away |

It was no accident that I went for this bag first. Booting up a computer is the first thing you do before you can blog and it is advertised as a breakfast coffee. So I plugged in my coffee maker, scooped a generous portion of coffee in and waited,...The coffee came in resealable bags...I have come to appreciate this nice touch. Boca Java certainly packages their coffee with the consumer in mind!...Finally my drink was ready and I settled down so I could concentrate on my coffee. .. Flavorful but not overly acidic. Nice body but not overwhelming. A medium roast. I tend to go for the ends of the range of roasting as well as varietals rather than blends to better enjoy the more specific aspects of a coffee. Because I am a coffee snob, I usually turn my nose up at breakfast blends. That will have to change. This is a great coffee! Despite my expectations of a relatively boring coffee, I found this to be a good example of a medium roast that did not really sacrifice acidity or body in the making of a breakfast blend. |

All in all, this is a great blend of coffee. I do wish to recommend it, just so long as you realize that what you are getting is not a single kind of bean, but a blend of beans meant to compliment the Tarrazu.

Coffee to the Rescue. 'Behind every successful woman... is a substantial amount of coffee.' The aroma is excellent. Nice and strong. The flavors come through. That's a good sign. Sipping...Smooth. Not bitter. I can taste some of the kahlua and vanilla flavoring. Another good sign. -note- I did add just a touch of splenda to bring out the flavors. Not enough to make it sweet, but enough to perk the flavor and accentuate it. Not always a fan of flavored coffee, I'm picky. I prefer strong and black and fresh ground... but when I'm in the mood for flavored this ranks high on my list.<more> |

Blogger's Beach Blast- I found it interesting that it smelled so strongly of coconut to me, but didn't say coconut on the package...but as it brewed, the coffee opened up. The coconut scent wafted away and in its place was a warm and silky chocolate scent. Rich and earthy and sweet but not sugary. It made me think of a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Do you know that quality in wine? You can smell the flavor, but it isn't perfectly tangible on the tongue. It's a suggestion, a trigger to the memory of a flavor. I've been drinking the same flavored coffee at home for a very long time and typically grind coffee beans well in advance of making a pot. I was worried that this unfamiliar coffee ground right before brewing would be too dark, too strong. But it was smooth and creamy and easy to drink and a pleasure to hold under my nose. I could smell the chocolate and caramel, but didn't feel like I was drinking a melted confection. It was very pleasant...The caramel scent is definitely dancing with the chocolate and twirling out of the bag now, carried up on whole notes of warm and earthy coffee.

Now being in college Coffee is one of my staples. I drink at least one cup a day(usually its night and late ). Boot up Blend is everything that the label has said and more. I dont just drink this kind in the morning but this is an excellent coffee to choose at anytime of the day. The coffee starts off with a rich taste and a smooth finish. And all of this is coming from my 10 dollar coffe maker. I could only imagine what the blend would taste like from a good machine. <more> |

I have been drinking the Blogger Boot-up blend all week. This is a great wake you up blend. It is smooth, smells good both brewed and bagged, and compliments any breakfast pastrie. Since I have been working second shift, I am not a morning person AT ALL anymore. This coffee has helped to make sure I start my day just right. I plan to buy A LOT more of this one! |

I did it again! I spent the week tasting Late Night Log In! This coffee was so good, I am almost out. It is smooth, the aroma is intoxicating, and it brews up nicely. I spent the whole week sipping, not slaming this coffee. It is a great dark roast. A thumbs up to it, and I will defianly order more. |

Ok, I have trying to wait until tomorrow, but I have a confession to make. I have been drinking New Media Mavricks (the second coffee in my reviews) for a week now. I know, I know, I am not supposed to do that, but it smelled so good through the packaging I could not resist. This coffee is a great blend. It has a smooth taste and calm flavor, but it is very potenet. Maybe I am brewing it wrong, but I can only handle two cups in the AM. I would very much recommend this blend for a good blogger. The aroma is perfect and will tease you into the bag from minute one. The flavor is great. And, it really picks you up. Another great Boca Java coffee! I would order this one in a heart beat! |

So, this morning we brewed a pot of 'Bloggers Boot Up Blend'. This is some good coffee. It's better than than usual grocery store blends and the lack of bitterness kicks Starbuck's breakfast blend to the curb. The black, zip-loc resealable bags are a nice touch, too. |

For my first review, I bring you 'Blogs of Bravery, THE REAL STORY IN REAL TIME' ... I must say that the description is right on. Once you open the bag you notice two types of beans and a wonderful aroma. The taste is definetly smooth all around, very good quality. I give this one a 9! |

New Media Mavericks: First let me tell you I have gotten my husband to help me review as he drinks so much coffee a day his blood must be part coffee. This coffee was so good the bag only lasted 2 days in our house! We could not stop drinking it. It was a truly awesome blend of coffee. It had a wonderful aroma to it and the taste was great! It didn't''t have any after taste and we truly enjoyed it. I think this is one you should try and that I will be buying again in the future!

Daily Dose of Coffee - new Media Mavericks...It's actually a pretty good coffee. But it's not robust. It's smooth. It's got a nice, but not overwhelming, flavor. I'd happily make it again and again and again. Particularly in the spring and the summer, when I prefer a lighter blend coffee. I wonder what it is like over ice. I don't do iced coffee so I'll never tell you, but I'd like to suggest the idea to another blog reviewer. I bet it's a good iced coffee. Not robust, but that's ok. Coffee does not have to be robust in order to be terrific. |

Blogger's Boot Up Blend - Joe and I both enjoyed the taste, although in comparing it to the coffee we usually drink I didn't think it was extraordinary. Bloggers Pajama Passion - This one, that has flavors of vanilla, kahlua and caramel, faired much better in our taste test. I served it after lunch on Mother's Day. My Mom, who is the ultimate coffee drinker, gave her thumbs up approval and then promptly took the rest of the bag home with her. It was smooth, not too strong and very tasty. |

I decided to start with 'Blogger's Pajama Passion -...Flavored coffees just don't make the cut with me. The aroma can be great, but the aftertaste is crude to me. Now, having said that, I was pleasantly suprised to try my first cup of Blogger's Pajama Passion. Even though Boca describes this coffee blend as featuring Vanilla, Kahula and Caramel, my first impression was of chocolate covered cherries. Interesting how the palate works. The flavor was smooth and rich. As I drank more, the cherry gave way to caramel with a hint of vanilla. ...My biggest suprise was the aftertaste, or rather absence of the usual harsh aftertaste. Flavored coffees usually never get finished by me. However, I did drink three cups of this one...I give this coffee a thumbs up to anyone who appreciates flavored coffees. And worth a try to those who don't. |

Flavored coffees always kind of psych me out -- I think they're going to taste like they smell, which of course, they don't, without the addition of sugar. Just to be sure I tasted it sans sweetener, and yup, it made me shudder. But a few squirts of my homemade vanilla syrup turned it around. YUM. Now that's a good cup of coffee. Usually I merely tolerate home-brewed coffee, while fantasizing about barista-brewed concoctions that cost quite a bit more than I ought to be spending on a beverage. But this, I dare say, is a home-brewed cup of coffee I'll actually look forward to. Mmmmm. |

'Blogger's Pajama Passion '...So the first thing I thought when I tried it was 'OW MY TONGUE - THAT'S HOT'. The NEXT thing I thought was 'Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y'. Seriously. I am blown away by how very drinkable this coffee is. With some flavored coffees, you end up getting something that either (a) tastes like hot chocolate, (b) is so strong you can't choke it down, or (c) is just plain bitter. I can confidently say that this coffee is none of those. The vanilla, kahlua, and caramel flavors are subtle, but just detectable enough to make the flavor VERY interesting. I live in the high desert region of Utah, so it's pretty hot out here, but it'll never be too hot for a cup of Pajama Passion! |

Next I sampled Bloggers Beach Blast, which promised a hint of chocolate kiss and caramel. Using the same brewing ratio yielded a nice, medium brew with a sweet aroma. From the first taste, I was hooked. The caramel flavor comes through nicely in the brewing, and the aftertaste has just enough of a chocolate flavor to keep me craving that next sip. This blend moves to the top of my must-buy list.
|
| |

The third type I tried was the Blogs of Bravery blend, a combination of light and dark-roasted beans. It has a nice, hearty aroma, and you can see the two different types of beans in the package. Again using the one-to-one ratio, I brewed a pot. It yielded a dark brew (though not as dark as the Late Night Log In) with a full aroma. This coffee was wonderful, full-bodied, but not too strong, with a nice finish. It has a pleasant aftertaste and is just as good once it's cooled off as it is piping hot.
|
| |

The first type I tried was Late Night Log In. I was a little concerned when I saw how dark the roast of this coffee was. ..Almost right away, my house smelled like a coffee shop... This coffee produces a nice, dark brew, a deep translucent brown with a rich, full aroma. The first sip was a pleasant surprise. Far from being too strong or burned-tasting, it had a deep, full flavor with plenty of body. I waited for the ashy aftertaste, but it never came. This coffee has a nice, smooth finish and a pleasant, nutty aftertaste. Sip after sip, it only got better. I would definitely buy this coffee.
|

The next kind I tried was the Bloggers Pajama Passion blend, a vanilla, kahlua and caramel flavored coffee. The aroma of this coffee is wonderful. I could tell I was in for a treat. Using the same ratio of coffee to water as before yielded a medium brew with a subtle aroma. I have to say that I didn't enjoy this coffee as much as the first kind. The flavors I expected based on the scent of the beans just didn't come through in the brewing. It was good coffee, but not as good as I expected. My husband, however, had some the next morning, cold (which is how he usually drinks his coffee) and said that the flavors were very evident and he really enjoyed it.

Mmm...Coffee...I decide on 'Blogs of Bravery' mostly because I liked the picture on the bag... LOL. The pictures on the coffee packages are sometimes more fun than the coffee itself. Todays goods,a MEDIUM roast, is a treat from Costa Rica. Boca Java named this one 'New Media Mavericks' the Unfiltered Truth. Well my dears, the unfiltered truth is that as I was dropping off my son at summer camp, I realized that I was bright eyed and bushy-tailed and grinning. I know, now I sound like a squril! But when I was young thats how my mom told me to be at school in the am. I had no idea how to do THAT! I am not a morning person, hence my love of coffee. This med roast is morning fuel, it goes down smooth and light but is rich in taste. I am enjoying it, at least 3 cups worth by now. |

'Blogger's Boot Up Blend' really really a lovely breakfast blend. Apparently the beans are from below the equator where I would like to set up camp... Even a dark roast can be smooth if the quality is there in the beans and roasting. The good folks at BocaJava seem to have figured that out. HuRrAh!! |

I have finally sampled all of the new Blogger's Blends and the flavored ones are the best for evening and entertaining. The New Mavericks and Boot Up blends are great for getting started in the morning and to keep going in the middle of the day. They both give your brain the jolt it needs to wake up and keep going. Bloggs of Bravery is great for afternoon and dinner blogging. It has a mild yet satisfying flavor and keeps you going. For those late nights at the computer, Late Night Log-in is the one to choose. It is especially nice with a little cream and sugar--the real thing not the fake stuff. Rosie really liked the Blogger PJ Paradise. The added flavors are her favorites and she really lapped it up. No matter what blend you choose, these coffees are the ones to try if you like coffee and coffee flavored beverages. |

The before grind smell is that of melted milk-chocolate ice cream with a hint of caramel. After grinding it has a heavenly coffee scent with caramel dominating the chocolate. Taken with three drops of liquid sucralose and a splash of milk - the coffee tastes like someone dropped a Hershey's Kiss filled with caramel into my coffee cup. With an extra shot of caramel syrup this coffee would be quite good blended with ice and milk and served as a dessert.<more> |

Today I tried the Boot Up Blend. It says on the bag that it's a medium blend and I've have to agree with that assessment. I'm not a strong coffee drinker so this one is right up my alley. I made it slightly stronger than I normally would based on suggested brewing instructions and it's still rather light so I might try it even stronger tomorrow. I'm not very good at judging 'hints and overtones' in flavors, but I will say it's really good! |

Late Night Log In - Aroma: The aroma is light and not overwhelming or burnt like many canned store blends tend to be. Taste: Mild with very little aftertaste. It tastes great black. Or if you prefer, cream and a little sugar is an excellent accompaniment to this simple blend. This coffee is nice and relaxing. It's a good social coffee for having friends over or sunday school at your church.<more> |

Do you Java? I broke open a bag of Bloggers Boot up Blend, the perfect breakfast blend. WOW. I must say that is some awesome coffee. It was so incredibly smooth. I was in coffee heaven. The taste was superb, this will be my morning staple for years to come. The best part about it, my DH, who is not a drinker tasted some this morning and he loved it. I think I am hooked. |

Right off, you can smell this bean has a stronger taste. Odd, but the word that came to mind is 'hearty.' Hearty like beef stew. And what do I mean by that? You know those days when you are starving? You feel like there's an abyss in your stomach that will go on forever and nothing will fill it. You eat a bowl of hot beef stew with all its juices and vegetables, and gargantuan pieces of beef. When it's all gone, you're deliciously full. Your stomach smiles along with your lips because it's truely satiated. You know that feeling? Well, that's this coffee. It's flavor is full and rich and says 'I AM coffee.' It's taste swirls first around your nose as you lift the cup to your mouth, leaves a bold print on your tongue and finally settles comfortably in your stomach. It's a 'Wake up' coffee for all you caffeine addicts. |

Boot Up Blend. This was a really good coffee, it was nice with no aftertaste and it was not too strong or too weak it was just right. It was a medium roast so I found it to be very good to start your day with. Blogs of Bravery. This was an interesting coffee as it was a mix of the two coffee's so it was a bit stronger but we really liked this one alot. It kinda slaps your face and wakes you up without being over powering. |

Out of sheer coincidence I picked out a bag of Boca Java Blogs of Bravery Blend (say that 12 times fast), the front line fuel. We're an Army funded institute, so with a healthy Hooah! we brewed up a batch. The result was very positive. The coffee tastes great. The bags are full 8 oz bags that arrive via mail. You can set yourself up on a standard ordering plan and you can get it pre-ground in resealable zipperlock bags. AND even better, you can participate in Blogger Philanthropy... you can send coffee to the troops overseas and they will match your donation.<more>

I tried two different methods to review the coffee. Once again, I drank the first cup black and hot and then I tried it with soy creamer and sugar. Both were very different in that the black and hot was not my favorite. I used sugar and soy creamer for the second round and it was very smooth and tasted much better. ..This gourmet coffee is fabulous and I cannot wait to try one of the other blends and review it here. |

Best Coffee Ever. ...It is some of the freshest coffee I have ever had. I have worked in coffee shops and I am very shocked at the freshness. They don't even roast the beans until you place your order. So your coffee EVERYTIME was just roasted a few days before you get it. It makes such a difference. The coffee I am drinking right now is called Blogger's Beach Blast. It is so good. It tastes like caramel Hershey's kisses. The flavors aren't too over powering. I honestly drink this stuff everyday. Take my word for it, I used to live in Seattle so I know my coffee :) |

Bloggers Beach Blast - With a promise of chocolate kiss and caramel, I was suspect. Most flavor coffee's I've tried just don't live up to that promise of said chocolate. First, I like the color of this coffee when made. Dark but still translucent. Not at all like the motor oil my boss used to drink. Excellent. Second, I made it a nontraditional way. I put it in the blender with some ice and a tad of milk. It's hot here and I wanted to be refreshed. Taking my eagerly anticipated drink out to the front porch(remembering I do all reflective coffee drinking at night right?), I take a sip. Mmmmm. Very smooth. That was my first impression. Not at all take-over-your-taste-buds experience at all. Second. I taste chocolate. And a very nice taste at that. Wow, what's that? Caramel didn't let me down either. I'm ecstatic. A coffee with flavor. And no bitter after taste like coffee sometimes has. This is something I can drink every morning. I'm committed. Another benefit of this wonderful drink is that it's available in decaf. <more> |

Unfortunately I went through the whole bag of Blogger's Beach Blast before ever making it to the beach. I usually don't like flavored coffees, but since I love the beach, this was the first coffee I chose to try. It has a combination of chocolate and caramel flavor, but it comes out smooth and rich...almost like a mocha. There's no bitter taste. All I need is a little milk in it, and I'm ready for a late night game of Settlers of Catan. This is honestly one of my all time favorite coffees.
Just say 'no' to big time coffee houses, where the beans sit on the shelf for who knows how long, and order a pound of fresh roasted coffee at Boca Java. (Click on the logo to the left.) |

This is a very nice cup of coffee. To be honest, I don't have much else to say about it. This is the coffee that could unite the coffee lover and the occassional coffee drinker. The aroma is very light, there isn't an overwhelming punch of coffee. The coffee itself is smooth. Very smooth. It rolls off the tongue so smoothly, leaving nary a trace of bitterness. Yet it has a lingering flavor! A smooth and bold coffee flavor, without any bitterness whatsoever. This coffee would be an excellent accompaniment to a brunch or a buttery pastry.<more> |

This morning I am sipping some of the fine 'Blogs of Bravery'... It is smooth, but it also had a little kick that I really like as well. I am normally a dark roast drinker...bitter is better and I like it like that. But this is definitely a nice compromise that lends it a smoothness and some subtle undertones that dark roast does not normally have. So I would certainly recommend this coffee as a really good wake up kind of blend. As always Boca Java=Really Good Coffee! |

The Bloggers Boot up blend. First off I will inform you that I am not a fan of black coffee so I have to add a spoonful of sugar to my coffee. That being said I did try a few swallows of black coffee first before added my beloved sugar to the mix. It wasn't bitter first off like thoes name brand coffees that everyone drinks. Still an aquired taste but what coffee isn't? Anyway after adding the sugar I got into the real drinking. I have to say that after drinking this coffee I will not be able to go back to back to folgers very happily. The coffee has a subtle earthy flavor that goes down smooth. Its like budda. Makes my mornings more fun to wake up to! I give it 5/5 tangled fingers! |

New Media Mavericks: Tasted a wee bit bitter on first sip but by the second sip it had settled nicely on my tongue, calling me back for sip after sip. Held its own when I dipped my breakfast biscotti! Blogger's Boot Up Blend: This is GREAT for breakfast. It, too, is a medium blend and goes down smooth. It wakes me up without kicking my taste buds in the butt. That's a good thing since I am NOT a morning person! Blogs of Bravery: Yech. Too strong for my taste, to the point of bitterness. Probably for a more hardcore coffee drinker. Blogger's Beach Blast: I'm in love! Who wouldn't be with chocolate and caramel in their coffee? I added real cream for a luxurious and sinfully rich treat. I'll go to this beach many, many more times. |

musings from malicious |
Bloggers Beach Blast: ...I could totally smell the chocolate but I didn't really taste it. The caramel was there, but it wasn't a very strong presence. This blend was really just okay for me. There are not a lot of chocolate coffee flavors that I like, however this is one of the better ones. It did make for a nice afternoon cup of coffee. I was craving sweet. I was craving chocolate. (Right, I know, when do I not crave chocolate?) And even though I didn't find this to be an overwhelming chocolate flavor, it did take the edge of the craving... 'Little Sis' says: I think so far this is my favorite one ...Since I love chocolate, I appreciated that the first thing I smelled when I opened the bag was chocolate! It's also the first flavor I noticed when I took my first sip. Almost every gourmet coffee brand offers their version of 'chocolate-flavored coffee', but none really deliver it as well as Blogger's Beach Blast does. Didn't really notice much caramel,... I'm not real sure about the name though - I'd probably call it something else... Maybe they could rename this one Choco-blog-o-holic, and then re-develop Blogger's Beach Blast with a coconut-lime twist. Mmmm...Okay, so just because were related doesn't mean we taste the coffee the same way!<more> |

Does the blend live up to it's description?: Definitely. Rich and smooth, very tasty. Does it taste good with my coffee creamer?: Thumbs up. On trying it black: Nope, didn't like it black. Other observations: It had kind of nutty flavor that I really enjoyed. It was just really good coffee. It was quite complimentary to breakfast type foods like muffins or bagels. I prefer a bolder coffee for a morning 'eye-opener' effect, but this was still a good blend to have in my morning cup. 'Little Sis' says: Nothing. I waited too long to ask and now she has, 'no comment'. Sorry. |

musingsfrommalicious |
Blogs of Bravery- Does the blend live up to it's description?: Pretty much. It is a well balanced blend. I think it has a bolder taste than a smooth taste. Does it taste good with my coffee creamer?: Thumbs up. On trying it black: It's okay. I wouldn't want to drink it black and it's not as yucky tasting as others sans creamer, but I still prefer it blonde. Other observations: There's a richness to this coffee that, for me, is similar to dark chocolate. It doesn't taste chocolatey but I get a distinct sensation in my sinuses that makes me need to sneeze the first time I take a sip. I do the same thing after tasting dark chocolate. This is not a bad thing. It speaks to the richness of the flavor. Of the non flavored blends, I like this one second best to Late Night Log In. 'Little Sis' says: I have no idea what to say about it. It was coffee. It was good. It was not displeasing in any way. I'm not sure what bravery is supposed to taste like, but I'm sure it communicates a perfect taste-likeness. |

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee-Part 1: New Media Mavericks. Nice whole beans (i.e. no hateful little bean scraps at the bottom of the bag) with a lovely aroma that grows in intensity when I grind and then brew. Great nutty flavor with a smooth finish though a little on the light side for a medium roast. Which is fine with me, as my usual preference is for light roasts. A choice roast for lazy Sunday afternoons, or my 3pm office cup. Also, I am drinking it this morning (right now!) and it is mighty tasty. Overall, I am not disappointed, impressed even. I am always skeptical of coffee I have never heard of before, and this one passes all personal quality tests.<more> |

...I open up the package, and it's instant aroma. Intense coffee with a lingering sweetness. I can clearly identify the caramel and the kahlua both... My experience with flavored coffees is that they are more hype than anything. Most often the aroma does not make it to the cup. Or it provides a cloying artificial sweetness to the coffee. However, I am hopeful..would it taste likek it smells? I pour the coffee into my cup and give it a minute to cool down...I raise my mug and immediately I am rewarded with the scent of vanilla...At first taste, I am in love with this coffee. <more> |

First, let me start off with YUM! Seriously. Mmmmmm-Mmmmm, YUM! ... I'm still on my first bag of coffee, Bloggers Pajama Passionwhich I am also having my co-workers sample along with me...With every bag of coffee that I've received from this little gem of a company, I've been knocked on my butt by the most amazingly fragrant beans...before even opening it. And when I started to brew a pot? MY GOD!!!! As most of you know, I work in a large building that hosts eighteen movie auditoriums. The smell wafed down the stairs into our concession stands where the staffers were preparing for opening hours. They could smell it over the aroma of popcorn and hotdogs. And it called a few of them upstairs to ask about the fantastic smell. <more>

...I have discovered something I like a lot. Boca Java. I was first turned on to this coffee company through an email. Bought some of their coffee...OMG!!! Good stuff...picked one titled 'Blogger's Beach Blast'...How does it taste? We don't need to put any sugar in it. (We both tend to use sugar if the coffee is a little too strong/bitter/whatever.) But the Blogger's Beach Blast is fantastic: it's smooth taste has a touch of sweetness (with a hint of caramel) and a chocolatey richness without being overwhelming. Just enough to leave me thinking, 'Ahhh...good stuff!' I do believe I could even try this blend without milk, it's that smooth. No bitterness...Would I recommend B.B.B.? Heck, come December, there's a good chance everyone on my holiday gift list will get some. It's that good!!! <more> |

Blogger's Bootup Blend - My first impressions of the coffee company are very good! Great packaging, good smell of freshly roasted beans. Yum! I got ground since we don't have a coffee grinder here. I used my traditional amount of grinds for 8 cups of coffee (one heaping scoopful for every two cups). ..I found this coffee (and now I've drank it about five times and can safely say) unable to stand up to the recent bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee that we just went through. The Blogger's Bootup Blend is very mild- too mild for my tastes. I need something more rich...Regardless, I'm about to get another cup. I need my coffee! :) |
| |
pixiemom |
Blogger's Beach Blast - The aroma is nice and mild. You get a hint of caramel wafting in the midst of the coffee. I usually end up taking at least one big sniff while it's brewing. The taste is slightly above mild, but with a 'kiss' of chocolate and the caramel, it smooths out very nicely, especially with some cream in it. If you prefer, as I do, you might like to add a small amount of sugar, but not much is needed. |

Late Night Log In: This blend is a nice dark roast, very smooth, no discernable acidity, and just a hint of vanilla flavor. Yes, the flavor is rich. Its strong. Arnold Schwartzenegger strong. Pajama Passion: This one has flavor added, and I DO mean flavor!. My personal favorite...Blogs of Bravery:Strong and tart. Not for the meek or faint of heart. Definitely one of my favorites.
Boot Up Blend: It has good aroma, medium strength, and no after-bite very smooth. Fairly tame. |

New Media Mavericks: ...it was miles ahead of yesterday's totally nappy flavor, but still not really my cup of joe. It was, however, hot and caffeinated so I, of course, drank the whole pot today.... This one was very dark smelling in the bag, and very woody...All in all, it was a tolerable coffee, and I would drink it again if someone wants to give away more, but it's not good enough to justify the shipping. I'm a flavored coffee kind of girl and tomorrow's Saturday, so Imma treat myself and we'll see...

Maybe I Shoulda Followed the Directions: I am not a true coffee snob. I drink a lot of coffee, tween a half a pot & a whole pot a day... This stuff, the Blogger's Boot Up Blend...had a dark, slightly woody smell and I was afraid my usual measurements were going to make it too strong... I usually use a half a cup of coffee to make a 12-cup pot. ... this pot, using a 1/2 cup of coffee, is just waay too weak. I've been up an hour and a half and had a full 12oz mug of coffee and my eyes still feel like I need to go back to bed... |

Today's blog has been brought to you by New Media Mavericks: ...When I opened the bag and inhaled, I knew this was going to be a bit stronger so I went a bit lighter on the scoops - only three heaping teaspoons for an entire pot. Wussy, I know. However, this is probably one of the best pots I've made! Very smooth, no bitterness that would be associated with a coffe that smells this strong. It reminds me of my gramma's coffee, and she does one mean pot-o-joe. <more> |

Today I thought I would re-visit Blogger's Beach Blast. My first attempt didn't fare as well as I had hoped. I didn't make it strong enough my first go. So today was four heaping teaspoons, and it's better. Now I'm picking up some of the subtle nuances of flavor, the chocolate and caramel. I probably could have gone one scoop more. I'm still very impressed with the smoothness of the coffees I have tried. Admittedly there are a couple that I am leary of: Blogs of Bravery and Late Night Log In. Both are dark roast, and as I've stated on several occassions, I'm a wimp with coffee. One day I will muster the courage!! <more> |

...the inspirational mug of Late Night Log-in from Boca Java. I am enjoying it quite a bit. Smooth I think describes it to perfection. Smooth, of course being a code word for: nice for folks who think they like coffee but really like something drinkable. Blogs of Bravery: Okay, now this was awesome coffee. True to the bag description, the whole beans were a mix of dark and medium roasts. They ground up and brewed beautifully. The taste is sublime. Bloggers Pajama Passion: I was looking forward to trying this flavored coffee featuring vanilla, kahlua and caramel. The whole beans smelled amazing when I opened the bag...I have to say though that I had a really difficult time brewing a good cup of this one out of my auto drip maker. I started with a regular, medium grind and used the recommended 2 tablespoons of coffee per 8oz. of filtered water. The aroma while brewing was nice, but the coffee was weak and lacking in flavor. I then used a finer espresso grind and repeated the process. Again, the aroma while brewing was pleasant, but the resulting cup was only moderately more flavored, and bordered on bitter. This was a case of coffee that smells better than it tastes. For a gourmet bean, I expect the brew to be excellent, no matter which grind I use. A disappointment after last weeks New Media Mavericks. <more> |

Everyone knows how much I love coffee and that when I find the best I will spend the pretty penny to get it. Today we brewed our first pot of Blogs of Bravery..I'm more of a med to light roast drinker...I tend to avoid the darker roasts...mostly because most companies burn theirs. But this coffee is a joy to drink. The strong dark aroma is additive. My teenaged daughter came out of her room ready for a cup....didnt even ask which one it was! She just said....I want a cup of that it smells wonderful!

The kids, who are not coffee drinkers (by Mom's Decree), all weighed in with suggestions of which coffee pouch to open first. Big Daddy, who's not much of a coffee drinker unless it's flavored, decided that we should taste-test 'Bloggers Beach Blast' with its chocolate and caramel flavor. It's his custom to add French Vanilla creamer to his coffee, and once he did that he practically had dessert. He likes to start his day with this one. I think it would make a nice iced-coffee-based smoothie, but it's not my favorite for drinking as a cup of coffee. My next pick was 'New Media Mavericks.' ...the coffee rocks. Now I've moved on to the Army Guy Coffee: 'Blogs of Bravery.' Since the bag stated it was a blend of dark and medium roasts, I was a little apprehensive. I don't like Starbucks; I can't stand dark roasts. But this is really nice. It's not bitter at all, has no burned taste, and a very good coffee flavor. |

Blogs of Bravery: Slightly pungent aroma of the grounds, can't quite put my finger on it. Also can't decide if I like the aroma or not. The brewed product does not have much of an aroma at all beyond basic coffee fragrance. The taste is very smooth, slightly above your standard ground. I have begun to drink black coffee due to these reviews as I think that's the only way to get a true idea of the coffee. This brew is very mellow and easily 'taken black.' Still not my favorite but a very good coffee. <more> |

Aah. That first cup of coffee in the morning. Too bad I haven't got something better than a couple of Nutty Bars to go with it. LOL Out of my Blogger's Fuel review kit, I chose to have the Blogger's Bootup Blend first. I actually made it yesterday, but I made it too weak, so I thought it deserved a fair review by the reviewer actually making it correctly. ;o) MUCH better with the correct ratio of coffee to water! So, this Blogger's Bootup Blend is very good! It's smooth and the perfect roast to me. This is just right, as Goldilocks would say. I'm not a big fan of very darkly roasted coffee. A little Splenda and a touch of half-and-half, and I'm happily waking up this morning with some yummy coffee. I believe I'll order this blend again. :) |

Well, today we made our last pot of New Media Mavericks, and I'm finally getting around to reviewing it. This is a very rich coffee, although it's not a dark roast. It reminds me a little bit of the good coffee that McDonald's had before they went to their 'new & improved' roast. :op I like it. |

The Blogger's Boot Up Blend: ... i really liked it. it was bold, yet smooth. it was everything i like about coffee. i tend to brew my joes a little stronger than most people prefer. because of this, i generally get that bitter edge that comes with any of the heavenly brew. the boot up blend, on the other hand, was surprizingly gentle. i felt like i was drinking silk and it hit my pallet with a warm boldness, but without the bitter aftertaste that usually follows. all-in-all, i can say that this coffee was truly good to the last drop. |

The last place I expected to find a good cup of coffee was the blogosphere. But anything is possible... 'Late Night Log-In' is rightly named, it's has a strong and bold taste that'll keep you awake for hours. Trust me. This blend is way better than any of the Starbucks blends I've tried (not to mention cheaper by a buck or two). My first thought on tasting it was, 'Hey! It's not bitter!' I didn't put any sugar or cream in it, despite it's boldness it has a self-sufficient sweetness to it. I enjoyed every sip. |

So far it's thumbs up on Blogs of Bravery, thumbs down on New Media Mavericks...First up is Blogs of Bravery...the cracked-open package smelled very sharp. In fact it smelled a lot like a Batdorf & Bronson Nicaraguan we'd gotten recently. And on taste test, it performed almost exactly like that coffee did. Straight up, this stuff has a leading flavor of burnt rubber. There's no other way to put it. The aftertaste is better than that description might sound, in fact rather nice, but this is not a brew we'd drink black. And 'smooth' is the last descriptor I'd think of. We kept coming back to 'sharp' and 'burnt rubbery.'Adding sugar burnished that sharp edge and took the rubbery taste right out. A further addition of whole milk (I'm out of cream more's the pity) produced a really nice cup of coffee.<more> |

The first coffee we tried was 'Blogger's Pajama Passion'. ..This coffee was so yummy I could envision myself being satisfied with it after dinner & saving the calories I would have otherwise spent on dessert. We will definitely order this one! The second one sipped was 'Blogs of Bravery'.. This coffee has a full body but no bitter aftertaste. We've been starting our mornings with it and I hate to say we've almost finished the bag! 'Blogger's Boot Up Blend' was our after dinner coffee last night. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. ..Maybe it was too many regions in one bag for my taste. |

(Hmmm...here I am on the west coast of Florida, windows open, letting the breeze in, while writing the Great American Novel, a mug of Late Night Log In, a plate of brownies or fruit, some jazz on the stereo...Yup, definitely the life... |

So I managed to take enough time this morning to brew up a 3rd blend to try, Bloggers Boot Up Blend. At least to my sleepy, 'not yet ready to take on the office' taste buds, it struck me as being right between Beach Blast and Late Night Log In in terms of strength. I'm still favoring Beach Blast as the top choice thus far but I have three to go before declaring a clear winner. Boot Up Blend is quite a nice breakfast brew with a satisfying, relatively smooth finish. It's a nice middle of the road, medium blend that will certainly satisfy a morning coffee drinker's needs. |

Okay, I really like this one. I mean, I really like this coffee. .. We usually prefer a darker, bolder coffee. Our everyday standard is a French Roast. We are not espresso drinkers, but we do enjoy a great cup of dark coffee. Blogs of Bravery is a great way to start your day, or get a great mid-afternoon pick-me-up. It has a fantastic intense coffee aroma that makes you smile as you raise your mug to your mouth. Taking a sip gives you an instant jolt. An instant hit of 'ooh, now that's good!' It has a fabulously warm, dark coffee flavor, but as with other coffees from Boca Java- there is virtually no bitterness! ...We have tried virtually every kind of coffee in the stores today, and nothing can compare to this. For a while we were receiving Gevalia coffees, but they don't even come close. |

Late Night Log In is my absolute favorite so far. ..It is a dark coffee, which is how I prefer it, but it isn't harsh in the least. It still has that smoothness that simply rolls off the tongue and hits every taste bud on the way through. The aftertaste lingers for some time, but it isn't at all bitter, and really just makes you want another sip of wonderful coffee. Bold and rich is exactly the way to describe this coffee. Late Night Log In is a great pick-me-up. In addition to its remarkable flavors, it also has a bit of a kick. This is the perfect coffee to perk up your step so you can make it through that mid-afternoon slump. |

In any case, this coffee rocks! This is by far the best tasting coffee I've ever had the pleasure of drinking. It's beyond smooth, no bitterness. If you've been following my blog at all (http://spaces.msn.com/ventl8r), you know how much I'm into this coffee!! |

Today's brew is a new one from my Connoisseur's Club, Ocean Drive: I've got one word for this blend. This. Is. One. Excellent. Cup. Of. Joe. Ok, so that was several one words. But you get the point. I dunno how Boca Java is able to get rid of the acrid taste that most coffees have. Smooth (still!), the aroma from the bag was scruptuous, the color is dark but not overpowering. This is one of my favorites so far. |

My impression of the aroma was that it's lush-smelling but not harshI found it very mellow and deep. While a dark roast will put out powerfully strong aroma, this coffee's dance around the olfactory sense is more subtle, more complex and more alluring by virtue of not being brow-beating first thing in the morning... There's a touch of almost fruity flavor (not any specific fruit, just the note of a little bit in the background) that Costa Rican coffees are known for, nicely balanced, and the rest of the mouthful is just plain lush! Rounded flavor, mellow yet deep, it's complex without being obnoxious. The acid content is surprisingly low without sacrificing either caffeine content or taste... |

My opinion of this coffee is that is excellent. It has a smooth, strong flavor very much similar to a French Roast and I LIKE IT! ...I extend my thanks to Boca Java for bringing this coffee into my world.

Late Night Log In: ... I took a sip ... it's a very strong blend. And while I hate to agree with glib ad copy, the Late Night Log In description claims 'This coffee is rich with flavor and has a smooth finish,' and it's really true. Sometimes very bold coffees have a bitter note at the end; in fact, I think that's why I often assume I don't like dark roasts. But this was very smooth and I liked it. I downed a large mug of it .. So, while the coffee didn't actually inspire me to run off and blog (although look, now it's late at night and here I am... SPOOKY), I was pleased with it. <more> |
