Position Overview:

The V.P. of Business Development is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities for growth through alternative distribution channels. This position will focus on business development and sales management through developing, negotiating and implementing Boca Java's Business-to-Business channel. Focus is to develop the Specialty Food trade & channels. This position will also identify creative marketing opportunities through other channels which may include Corporate Gifting, Office Services, Employee Incentives and Restaurant/Hospitality. Furthermore VP will build relationships and market opportunities with eCommerce companies, Internet companies and other Community relationships.

Overall Position Responsibilities

  • Develops overall strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market our coffee, teas, cocoas and gift baskets to corporate and select wholesale accounts.
  • Responsible for identifying and developing new business growth opportunities within new marketing channels.
  • Build high-powered sales team and sales training ads and tools.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional departments, such as marketing and merchandising in the development and implementation of B-2B strategies, plans and business models.
  • Identifies and proactively networks with prospects through client contact, traveling to sites, and attending trade shows/conferences.
  • Markets to new and existing customers through creation, development, and implementation of customized business strategies.
  • Manages relationships with prospects, clients, and partners in the B-2-B environment.
  • Proposes projects based on historical data, market research and customer trends.
  • Provides support to President and other Senior Leaders in deal negotiations, due diligence, and other business/alliance development projects.
  • Partner with the marketing department in the planning of marketing and promotions, including advertising, and special sales.
  • Provides input to the management team on the new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs.
  • Researches and learns new emerging technologies and trends.

Requirements:

7+ years in sales/business development capacity within a similar industry with an emphasis in market development

  • Specialty Food Channel & Category or Corporate Gifting a plus.
  • Proven experience in developing a B-2-B channel or sales program from scratch.
  • Experience managing a (food-) broker network a plus
  • Consumer Products Sales experience a plus.
  • High energy and accomplished in building strategic vision and sales teams.

  • Accomplished leaderships skills
  • Experience in completing projects in a timely manner, and manage project team activities.

  • Ability to relate to diverse constituencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Coffee drinker!

We pay a competitive base salary and reward for performance. Our salary structure is commensurate with experience. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program.

Relocation preferable but not critical.
