This coffee gave me what I was hoping for--the smell and taste of the holidays. Warm pumpkin spice smell when I lift my cup to inhale as the subtle taste of pumpkin pie rolls around on my tongue. Coming to the top of the stairs after my first pot had brewed (thanks to automatic timer), I felt like it was Thanksgiving. It is the perfect flavor/aroma to usher in the harvest and holiday gatherings, a time that is very important to me. Smells associate with our memories, and I'm sure this coffee will be part of my tradition for years to come (so you have to continue making it for me). I actually mix it 1:2, using a dark unflavored roast for the single scoop. It is still satisfying to me. PS-Try it with Vanilla (coffee or creamer), it's the "whipped cream" on the top!

I have a french press and use this as opposed to a drip coffee maker, as you get the most oils from the coffee and end up with a much richer taste. I was expecting a spicy coffee flavor and have enjoyed a coffee with cinnamon and clove, so I was eager to try this. I follow strict guidelines to brewing to achieve the best flavor. The first thing I noticed was a very off smell, like a wet ashtray. This was very disconcerting. When I tasted it, it was inedible. I tried adding cream and sugar and it only made it worse. I asked my husband to try it, and after smelling it, he refused and said it smelled like "bong water". I dumped it out, and tried making it again and the result was the same. I had to wash my french press three times with boiling soapy water and could still smell the hint of what can only be described as stale cigarette. Awful and so disappointing!

I received this coffee as a Pollyana gift and served during my Christmas Eve breakfast. Everyone loved the flavor of this coffee. The spice was not over powering. Everyone commented on how it tasted like real pumpkin. We added regular coffee creamer so that we could enjoy the flavor. This was the first time I have ever had Boca Jova coffee and I enjoyed every drop of it! Will definitely recommend to family and friends!
