This is my favorite Boca Java coffee. I have had the Kona and Blue Mountain and they are great, however, they are very expensive. Bali Batur is very similar to these coffees and due to the cost and similar taste I think it wins out. It IS a couple of dollars higher than most of Boca's coffees but well worth it. Great balanced flavor, low acidity, and very smooth. Puts store bought coffee to shame.

Brewed in an auto-drip system did not do the cup justice. It needed more of the essential oils a french press would allow. As it was, it was a bit flat on the tongue with a slight aftertaste that was more sharp than balanced. I ended up adding a tiny pinch of salt to give it a less bitter overall taste.

My son and I worked together for years and became coffe lovers together. Our all-time favorite is K'auaian coffe from K'auai, but have had to find less expensive options. We like a full-bodied dark roast with an organic environmentally concerned grower.
This coffee did not taste like a Bali coffee, it tasted like what the cheap companies try to pass off as good coffee. I am hoping that it was a bad batch. I have another bag on the way, I couldn't change my selection in time, so I will post again.
It wasn't bitter, but there was that flat, cardboard taste and aftertaste, and a tang that was definitely disagreeable.
