I use this coffee in my Cuisenart auto-drip coffee maker. I'm not at all fond of it because it's weak and leaves a sour aftertaste. I will not be re-newing my subscription to it. I lived in Europe for over 8 years, there is little to remind me of European coffees.

I'm a french roast/dark roast fan. At our house we go through 2 lbs of coffee a week. This coffee is as good as they come. Very pleased.I love the quality and selection at Boca Java.However, [...], this coffee comes to over [$] a pound. I can get very good whole bean gourmet coffee that's similar in quality at the grocery store for under [$] a pound (NOT talking about that pacific northwest monster coffee company). As much as I love Boca Villa, and Boca Java overall, the cost prevents me from buying it exclusively or even nearly as often as I'd like.

I have only tried 1 of the 4 sent, but am looking forward to the rest. As I opened the bag the aroma filled the kitchen. I could see the heavy oils permeate from the bean. As it was ground the aroma's intensified. The taste was smooth yet bold. Looking forward to the cooler months ahead, so I can brew more cups in through out the day.

Taste was sharp at the beginning and then disappeared. Grind was too coarse for my preference, and resulted in a thinner final product. Once I added a scoop of finer ground espresso roast, the flavor balanced out to what I look for in a cup of good coffee. I think the grind is fairly key - even a bag of coarser ground sbux tastes, well, eh. This one makes a very fine emergency bag, though - unlike a pre-ground sbux.

Enjoy the coffee. I mix 1/2 regular and 1/2 decafe so I can drink the coffee all day and not worry about to much cafeinne. I finally got the correct coffee to water ratio for my 10 cup Coffee Maker. My new Coffee Maker is a 12 cup, I am trying to make the correct Coffee to Water ratio. Its difficult since some coffee makers, cup measurments are not 8oz. they may be anywhere between 5 oz. to 8 oz.

Before I found Boca Java, I would get either Starbucks French or Sumatra blend; or Tulleys French roast (which, btw, the only drinkable one they offer) I truly love all three of the dark roast from Boca Java. I am not your average coffee connoisseur in that I tend to brew my coffee weak. That said, I DO NOT like weak flavoured coffees so I gravitate towards dark, rich, french roasts. Boca Villa is hands down the best coffee for my brewing trends that I have tasted in a long time. It's bold smooth flavour is well retained in watery conditions and allows me to avoid the acid stomach and general caffeine jitters I get from other, strongly brewed coffees. All this without having to go decaf!
