This may seem rather unconventional.
The procedure is for one cup at a time:
I grind 2 oz.(by vol.)of beans(3 tbls.)using my automatic coffee maker(it no longer brews)which deposits the ground coffee into a conventional paper filter. I place the filter in a stainless steel funnel seated on top of my 14 oz. insulated carafe. I then slowly pour 12 oz. of almost-boiling bottled water over the grind. I add a tsp. of half and half to the brew and enjoy.
I intend to modify this method by trying a permanent filter.
Note: The automatic grinder, in addition to being convenient, also provides the exact amount of grinding every time which, of course, is important.

Tried this product in a auto-drip coffeemaker. I was not at all impressed with the Organic Peruvian. This was my first time trying Boca Java (as part of a promotion), I usually frequent a local roasterie for my beans. Luckily the second roast that I tried, Coastal Costa-Rican, was much better.

It smelled great when grinding and brewing, but when I poured it, my first thought was this is really light, then the taste was very watered down for the same amount I usually use with the Gevalia or local beans.

I was truly excited to find that Boca Java offered a Peruvian coffee - even more so when it said "Pure" and "Organic." Peruvian is probably one of my favorites - usually very rich, aromatic and flavorful, and out of the 4 coffees that I chose as my first option for delivery, this was the best. However, I wish now that I'd chosen whole bean instead of universal grind (just goes to show you can't be lazy!! LOL), because I use a bit finer grind than what I was shipped. That's okay though - I've chosen whole bean for my next shipment, and we'll see how it goes.

I LOVE coffee but it doesn't always love me. This coffee is fantastic. If you liked the discontinued Mizner this is a really, really good replacement. My husband takes a thermos of coffer to work everyday and even if it 12 hours after it was put in the thermos it still tastes great.
This is a coffee that is good black or with a little cream and sugar AND it makes the best ice coffee I have ever had.
Worth a try!!!

Overall, I really like this coffee. It's one of the first times I've tried organic coffee. I have a French Press and a drip coffee maker, and so far I've only made this one in the drip maker.

The last order I received was disappointing, when I opened the shipping box it had a lot of beans in the bottom, upon inspecting one of the bags it had two punched round holes in the bottom corners.
I did ask for a refund on that bag, but it bothered me that this was missed while packing. (when I lifted the bag out of the box it was raining beans.

I'm sitting here enjoying a delightfully organic, natural, and pure cup of my favorite coffee (the Pure Peruvian) with just a touch of organic, natural cream. I'm no crunchy granola type girl, but I will admit that the purity of this cup makes it taste oh so much better. I would describe this bean as smooth and mellow like a Mexican Altura but with more body. It has a creamy texture (even without the cream) that eases me in to my morning. It is not bitter and there is no acidity (my husband prefers something a little brighter in the mornings - too bad). If you need a bigger kick in the pants in the AM, then save this delicious bean for an after dinner coffee with dessert. Yum. Love it!

I have tried numbers of brands and types of organic coffee and this has by far, the best taste and balanced acidity. I use a Bodum Bean Grinder and Bodum Vac-Coffee maker--so I can only rate this for that type of maker and French Press is close to a Vac-Coffee maker. So anyway, this coffee is not bitter or too strong in a Vac-Coffee maker but, a drip coffee maker may make this coffee too weak...I don't know??

I have tried numerous coffees from b.j. as well as from other stores and this is by far the best coffee. The flavor is great, like we all imagine coffee will and should taste! It has richness without any fruit,spice, or additional flavoring. I prefer to make strong coffee and this works great. All my friends who have had a cup of Peruvian have said its the best coffee they've ever had.

It is the best of your coffees that I have tried. It is almost as good as Bolivian coffee, much better than Colombian, Central American, Asian or African. Kona is still the best, but I get it from a different source than you. Unfortunately, it is too expensive to have every day.

This roast is an all around good roast. It has a great smell when opened and good flavor. This is a satisfying roast to fit perfect when having guests over. For those that like a light coffee this roast won't over power them. While someone that likes a bolder coffee is not left thinking he is drinking colored water.
Make sure you don't go to little on the grounds in the filter. You will want to have a good amount to get the best flavor. If you don't have enough you can quickly cross over to a watery bitter coffee. Have the proper amount of grounds and you will get a very balanced, well rounded coffee.

This is a fantastic coffee!! it is the smoothest coffee with no aftertaste that I have ever had. It has a nice aroma and a nice flavor but could be a bit stronger in my opinion.

Great for use in the one cup coffeemaker, but you get the best brew if you brew a 7 oz and then a 9 oz out of the same grounds for strength rather than one 14oz cup.

I changed my order to the organic coffee even though it is more expensive because coffee is one of the most heavliy sprayed crops. I don't know for sure but I hope that Boca is buying organic coffee from shade grown local farmers at a fair price too!!!! I like Bocas products and even my husband who will drink anything asked my what happened to the coffee the other day when I had to use some other coffee because I ran out of our Boca Organic coffee!!!
