Inconsistent roasting

This is a tough coffee to review given that some batches (like the one I received in November) I'd rate at 5-stars whereas my most recent shipment (roasted on 12/16/09) dropped dramatically to 1-star. The main problem with this latest batch was that it was way too over-roasted. It was burned, smelled burned, and should have never been shipped to customers. Furthermore, the inclusion of some very tiny beans into this batch also contributed to the problem (as smaller beans roast much faster).
As a home roaster, I know how easy it is to over-roast coffee (or even under-roast). Just a few seconds too much (or too little) can make a big difference in the final result.
Inconsistent roasting means "your mileage may vary". Boca Java needs to strive towards consistency with the beans they use and the roasting curve they apply.
